HPV symptoms
Approximately 90% of cases are asymptomatic (meaning they do not display any symptoms of disease). If there are manifestations, they usually go away on their own. Therefore, it is likely that most of those who have contracted HPV are unaware of its existence.
The general symptom of HPV infection is the generation of warts, which can sometimes be associated with itching, burning, or tenderness. Some strains lead to warts on people's hands and feet, while others will result in genital or anal warts. That is the reason why HPV is also called the “wart virus”.
Several HPV strains affecting the genital area, can alter cervical cells(For instance, causing abnormal tissue growth), which may then develop into a cancer. The majorityof women infected with the genital strains, though, do not go on to develop cervical cancer.
