As Christmas is upon us, the risk of Ecoli infection is something we should all be aware of in regard to buying, storing and then finally cooking our turkeys.

 

COOKING TURKEY?

 

  • You should either cook or freeze your turkey before the end of its "use by date".
  • If there are not any instructions on the label it should be kept in the fridge and cooked within 48hrs.

 

HOW LONG CAN YOU KEEP LEFT OVER TURKEY?

  •  You can keep turkey leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • After turkey is cooked, you should cool it as quickly as possible, ideally within one to two hours and keep it in the fridge.
  • You can freeze cooked turkey for up to three months.
